KITCHENER,
ON, Nov. 13/02 - On November 12, 2002 at 10:23 am Hoyes, Michalos
& Associates Inc. became the first trustee in Canada to
electronically file bankruptcy documents using an XML translator
developed by Nautalex Business Services Inc.
In an effort to improve access to the bankruptcy system, the
Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy (OSB), a division
of Industry Canada, has undertaken a pilot project allowing
licensed trustees in bankruptcy to e-file or electronically
file bankruptcy documents.
The challenge for all trustees is getting their data into
the OSB's system. To address this need Hoyes Michalos &
Associates commissioned Nautalex Business Services Inc.
"The challenge we faced was sharing data between two
completely disparate systems efficiently through the Internet.
To accomplish this Nautalex designed software which reads
data out of their (Hoyes, Michalos & Associates) system,
and translates it into XML matching the database schema
used by the OSB." describes Jarret Austin, lead software
developer for Nautalex. Once the XML files are generated
by translation trustees simply upload the files to a computer
interface designed by MONTAGE.DMC eBusiness Services where
they are then instantly entered in the OSB system.
